Bill Wilkman, local history researcher and cultural resource consultant, will discuss his research into the Pachappa Bowling Club, one of the longest-running clubs in the area.

The Story of the Willie Boy Manhunt

 

Program:

Dr. Clifford Trafzer, a professor of history at UCR and current Rupert Costo Chair at UCR, will discuss his research into the fascinating story of the Willie Boy manhunt of September-October 1909.  This story has been told and retold many times, and Dr. Trafzer will bring to light new research and ideas regarding the events and people behind the story.

Riverside Then and Now

 

Program:

Glen Freeman, a website designer for the Press-Enterprise, will discuss his new book entitled "Riverside Then and Now."  For several months, Freeman looked through archives for early pictures of Riverside, then recreated those same pictures today, giving a fascinating look at how our city has changed over the years.  Glen will show some of those then-and-now shots, and will have the books available for sale at the meeting.
