The Earp Family in the Inland Empire

 

Program:

Nick Cataldo, San Bernardino historian, author, lecturer and researcher, will discuss the Earp family in the Inland Empire.  Nick has done extensive research into this family (of OK Corral fame), and has written a book detailing the family in our area.  The book, entitled The Earp Clan: The Southern California Years, will be available for purchase and signing.

 

Time:

12:30 p.m.

 

Place:

California Baptist University, Copenbarger Room - 8432 Magnolia Avenue

 

Lunch:

The "Groaning Board" Cold Buffet. Build your own "piled high" deli sandwiches! There’s a great selection of deli meats, cheeses, artisan breads and rolls. Includes two side salads and a relish tray of sliced tomatoes, lettuce, pickle chips, potato chips, mayonnaise & mustard, beverage and a dessert.

 

Cost:

$20.00/person, tax included

Camp Anza Revisited

 

Program:

Frank Teurlay, Camp Anza researcher and author, will return to give us more insight into the fascinating history of Camp Anza, the large World War II personnel processing center located southwest of the intersection of Van Buren Blvd. and Arlington Ave.  Frank will have copies of his book "Camp Anza" (Arcadia Publishing) on hand for sale and signing.  When Frank came to speak in April 2007, the meeting was packed - make your reservations early !!

The King High School Veterans' Oral History Project

 

Program:

King High teacher John Corona will discuss the ongoing project which introduces high school students to veterans of all ages.  Corona and his students delve into the fascinating stories of many of Riverside's vets, and the students get to hear first-hand some of the things they may only read about in their text books.  Corona may bring some vets and/or students too!!
