Journal of the
Riverside Historical Society
![]()
In 1997, the Riverside Historical Society began publishing an annual journal containing articles of interest pertaining to some aspect of Riverside's history. Through the Journal, the Society seeks to accomplish several things -
|
1. To publish carefully researched and documented articles of broad popular appeal relating to Riverside personalities, events, and institutions of the past. 2. To publish personal accounts by witnesses of or participants in significant past events. These are to be derived both from manuscripts and from planned oral history interviews. 3. To encourage both established and new historians to research and publish articles on previously unexplored aspects of Riverside’s history. 4. To foster among Riverside’s newer residents a lively interest in Riverside’s history and an active concern for Riverside’s historic resources. 5. To increase participation in Riverside Historical Society membership and activities among the publication’s readers. |

The Journal is provided free to all members at the February meeting, with additional copies distributed to schools throughout Riverside. Current and some back issues can be purchased for $5 each through the Society. Please contact the Society using the link below to find out which issues are still available.
