“Barracks in my Back Yard” recalls the former Camp Haan buildings that went on to serve other purposes in our community after World War II.
William K Woerz III is a local post-World War II architecture and history buff. Growing up in Arlanza, William developed an early passion for understanding the Army buildings that surrounded his childhood home. William lived in Riverside until 2002 when he enlisted in the United States Army as a Topographic Surveyor. Upon his return to civilian life in 2006, he went on to complete degrees in Architecture and Construction Technology from Norco College and obtained his B.S in Urban and Regional Planning with a minor in Geographic Information Systems. William is the Principal Draftsman and Designer of his firm, W.W. Custom Designs, with dozens of residential projects in Riverside and the surrounding area. William is a member of the Riverside Historical Society.
